Our journey began with a vision to provide high-quality, ethically sourced raw materials to support and enhance Australian manufacturing. We are proud to be 100% Australian-owned with a steadfast commitment to innovation, sustainability, and local job creation.
In 1993, Director David Dickinson founded the company to ensure Australian foundry and steel-making manufacturing is supplied with quality and reliable raw materials.
We study our suppliers to ensure we source only the best materials.
For over 30 years, we have invested in our own manufacturing and warehousing facilities in Sydney, along with establishing a physical presence in six states and New Zealand, to deliver to our customers on time and at the lowest cost.
In 2019, David established the Dickinson Foundation, a forward-thinking philanthropic organisation dedicated to ensuring all young Australians are supported to participate, develop and stay in sports. Together our company and the Foundation are proud of our role in supporting Australian businesses and giving to our local communities.

David Dickinson
FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR
David has operated in the international metallurgical industry for over 40 years. Starting his career in New Zealand, and expanding to the US, he chose to call Australia home establishing the company in 1993. Today, the company continues to grow and has earned its place as a supplier in growing Australian manufacturing industries. David mentors and supports ‘Team DMS’ inspiring innovation and dedication from all staff.
Outside of work, David is an active golfer, sports lover and philanthropist who cares deeply about the health and wellbeing of young Australians and regional and remote communities. He set up the Dickinson Foundation, which to date has funded over 600 community volunteer junior sports clubs and supports almost 100,000 Australian kids to play and stay in sports.

Andrew Johnstone
GENERAL MANAGER
Andrew brings over 25 years of invaluable expertise and experience in navigating the intricacies of the steel and foundry industries amidst evolving global production and supply challenges. Under his leadership, Dickinson’s is a company of innovation and resilience.
Andrew has positioned the company as a market leader in ferroalloys and consumables with on-site value-added production facilities - customers benefit from tailored sourcing, sizing and packaging solutions. His dedication to nurturing talent, ensuring quality product and implementing competitive pricing strategies has realised sustained company growth and profit.
His focus on our people, the quality of the product and best price to the customer has driven profitable growth. Outside of work, Andrew finds joy in exploring nature both on land and underwater.

With over 30 years of experience in customer service, supply chain and logistics, Tim has an innovative solution-driven mind and works to get the best fit for customer needs.
Tim works with our customers to understand their future and evolving direction, and to apply innovative supply and logistics options. Tim is committed to helping customers to succeed in their business.
When Tim is not hard at work, he loves to be out on the ocean helping to develop junior sailing or on land exploring the outback.

David has been a key member of Dickinson’s for over 20 years bringing a wealth of knowledge in supply chains, import, warehousing and storage solutions. He also
Oversees key functions including governance, safety, regulatory and financial operations to ensure the company meets its high standards. His team are skilled in managing the complexities of international freight operations and shipping challenges.
Outside of work, David enjoys photography, fishing, exploring the great outdoors including hiking and growing fresh vegetables. David is a calm and competent leader and proves there can be balance and dedication in a professional and personal life.
